I'd like to up the power on my tt to no more than 430/440bhp and the equivalent torque with just an ECU upgrade. I can't afford to spend more than £1500.

The ECU must be motronic and work fine with my 408 car which is completely standard apart from cargraphic sports mufflers.

I used to have an RS tuning chip which was great but was really intended as part of a bigger tuning package including modified turbo's, sports cats etc.
I'm looking for a ECU which is designed for the standard car.

Ideally I'd like the Porsche 430 chip as I have the additional oil cooler ready to fit - but I can't get hold of one and a new one from Porsche is too expensive.

I'd like advice on where I could get such a chip if anywhere? FVD springs to mind and if so does anyone have experience of this chip? I hear they may be made by RS tuning and supplied to FVD. Also the FVD chip comes with some scary looking small air intake kit and filter - again anyone comment on this?

Perhaps there are other companies who can offer a motronic chip upgrade that suits my requirments.

Many thanks
Kenny

ha ha I've already dipped my toe in Rods....it's ok 430/440 is enough definately, I want to be able to enjoy the car in another 40k miles and put it back to standard easy when it goes. (if ever!).

I had ace-part's (et al) RS tuning ECU for a while and the car was VERY quick, too quick for me so I know I've got a limit.

EBAY

Make sure you search global, not just UK. They do come up. Alternatively ask on rennlist on the 993tt forum, there were a couple for sale (not for long) a few years back. I'm sure if you make it known you're after one hen one will *surface*...

Instead of blowing money on tuning, why not do a don palmer day or two and some time around somewhere safe such as bedford. The 993TT is an extremely quick car anyway and you'll gain far more from it with some driving experience than you would with an extra X bhp.

Yes I've been searching global ebay for a couple of months now, keeping my eye out. I assume you mean the Porsche 430 chip. I thought I should confine my search to Europe though - as for example for USA chips are 424 and suit their different emissions setup etc?

Any comments on FVD, other options?

Alan - you're right of course, I have driving training in hand - I want the power in addition to this.
