I would greatly appreciate any pointers for insurance companies, my insurance is soon up for renewal on my 2000 C4 CAB. Im currently insured through the AA with Hallmark and have just had my new premium through, which has lept up from £645 to £1025!!!
This is based on a fully comp protected policy with 10yrs NCD. I could understand the uplift in premium if I'd claimed or even
moved to a different area, but nothing has changed!!!...no claims, havent moved and no fines.

Im 38yrs old, live in south east kent and have had no claims, points or penalty notices in the last 7yrs. The only thing I can think
of is that Ive only owned my 996 for about 6mths, so had to pay an uplift on last years policy from a Boxster S to the C4, am I considered a higher risk because Im now driving a 911!!??, Ive driven Boxster's for the last 7yrs proir to purchasing this car, so would for thought that would of helped in their risk accessment!!

The best quote to date Ive had is with Carol Nash at £750 with a £500 excess, does this seem a good deal to you guys or can anyone
point me in the direction of other companies I can try?

Thanks in advance for you comments

Hi,

I pay £750 for my 2001 996 C2 and a Renault Megane on a two car policy with Admiral.

I'm 27, full no claims, both garaged etc.

Could give them a try

There's no magic answer. Do a search and see which insurers are recommended and get quotes. Confused.com is probably also worth a look. I would guess you should be able to get below the £500 mark with a £250 excess.

The A Plan guys that are on the forum Quoted me £650 for a £40k 999 Carrera 4S - I am 30years old with full No Claims Bonus. May i add though that Elephant Insurance quoted me £620 so there is two avenues to go down for a quote:

confused.com is a decent starting place to set a level for what's available.

I ended up insuring my 97 993 Targa with Privilege - £550 for 6K miles p.a, garaged, one SP30, 9 years NCD and one no-fault claim. Excess is £600 from memory, I think.

That was marginally cheapest but there were a few around £580-600. I'm sure their ad says something about guaranteeing to beat your renewal if you have at least 4 years NCD - although there's doubtless some get-out to allow them to weasel out of that!

Just renewed mine this week, last yr 1100, this years renewal 719 with Endsleigh with 500 excess. Check confused.com to get some idea of premiums. Best bit was then i range back to Endsleigh to say i`d be looking around and could they do any better, yep 664 pounds. I`m 38, 4yrs ncd, 3 points and park me car on the street in Pompey!

Try Norwich Union Direct, they quoted me a far better deal last year.
PS: Beware, talking to a Porsche repairer recently who has had problems with 'cut-price' insurance companies.....they will try to cut back on the cost of a repair. N.U. direct were OK however.

Try A Manning on 01491 578 759.
They give discounts for PCGB members and include free trackday insurance for any ATDO member events.
I just renewed through them as they were the most competitive and offered the best overall cover.

as above. Ive been with Norwich Union Direct for the past three years - they consistently out-quoted everyone else. However this year A-plan beat them by another 20%, even allowing for me declaring an non-standard sports exhaust (which reduced the number of comanies prepared to quote on confused.com from 20 to 2 eek), business use for me and a claim history for my named driver

Did you ask your original insurers why the big increase?

Ditto.

A Plan were pretty good on price too, but did not include track day cover.
