Traction Control
Discussion
I want to incorporate it into my build.. but had this from them.. still dont know which way im going yet?!

If you wish to incorporate a loom from our traction control system
during the build then you really need to know whether or not it will be
EFI or carburetted, as this is the most fundamental integration of the
system. It needs to be implemented in different ways according to how
your are going to fuel the engine.
If you are going to use carbs then you will only need a six cylinder
unit (RLTC6AW, RLTC6ALW or RLTC6DIAW) fitted with a sparkcut board
(TCSPARK). If you intend to use EFI then you will need either RLTC8ADLW
or RLTC8DIAW. In either case, as there is no ABS, you will also need a
set of wheel speed sensors - TCWSSSET. Please refer to this page which
lists all systems:

If the engine has more than two coil packs then the spark-cut option is
not viable I'm afraid.
Our system is Traction Control with Launch as an available option - we
do not have a standalone launch product I'm afraid.
I hope the above makes sense - please let me know if I can help further.

Mike Broadbent,
Sales Manager.
are there any other good systems to look out for?
Used to work for Racelogic, and bias aside, the system is great on a performance car. Best thing about it is you can set the slip percentage. So if you get caught in a downpour set it to 0% slip and it works like traction control in an everday road car and is safe. On track set it to 10% and you can have sideways fun, but it stops it breaking too loose. It works best and easiest fitted to a fuel injected car with ABS, but can be fitted to any vehicle.
Used to do good group buy deals, so if you can get a bunch of owners together you should get a much better deal.
Speak to Mike @ Racelogic or look for "racelogic" member on here, Julian is the MD and an old friend of mine.

Why not wait and see if TC is required before leaping in? I am running Motec and for a fee, TC is easily enabled but I did not manage to get it sorted before getting out on the road. I have over 600 ft lbs and during the Christmas period was out and about and sure, if you were not careful, the car was eager to bite you in the arse but as long as you are focused, I can not see it being a problem. For the most part, these cars are generally only used in fair weather so should not be a major problem. It is early days yet and it does depend on your wits and if you like to make full use of them, but I would not be overly anxious to fit it.
usagtrman has TC on his Ultima. They fitted sensors to read the bolts on the brake rotors for wheel speed. Sounds like it works well for him. I am not sure which brand it is though. Hopefully Brad will chime in.

I already have a very large BLACK crash helmet (62cm) and some snazy Sparco Nomex gloves. I bought some Sparco driving boots last year and am on a mega diet and once I have shed the required excess, will be investing in a (size 56) Sparco ExtraLight race suit. I may not be able to drive for shit, but I am sure gonna look like I can (whilst out of the car at least!).
Hi Keith
I'm fitting the Racelogic TC system into my supercharged Can-Am. The car is not yet on the road but I have used the Racelogic system before in a TVR. What can I say,it works really well and that's why I'm using it again. I've only ever used it using the injector cut system not the spark cut system. Is your engine fuel injected or carbed? It's great fun to use, as said above you can dial in the amount of slip. You can see the control box 2nd from the left next to the MSD unit. It has my knock control module stuck on it. Carbs were never this complex.

Thanks for the info Dave!
Actually it gets a little more complicated!
Outstanding Jeff S is sourcing & building my LS7 at the moment, and I have alway liked the idea of traction control/ Launch control and paddle-shift! This would just do it for me! I also was thinking of going for a beefed up GT2 gearbox arrangement.
However, there are a few complications:
Firstly, the aftermarket paddle shift systems seem to be many and varied, with a fair number of users reporting problems with some of them either not engaging properly or just sticking!
Have had a chat recently with Mark from Linden Special Vehicles and he has one that he says is very reliable. BUT Paddle-shift even set up really well, knocks 3 bells out of any transaxle, and the GT2 box wont cut it. Indeed Mark has gone for a Hewland (wow - expensive)box which is much stronger!
Race-logic looks good, however it appears that the paddle-shift system that Mark can supply also has traction/ launch control, however I don't think it is as flexible re-adjustments, I might be wrong!
If I went for the Linden route, then I understand that the GM ECU that normally is supplied with the LS7 is not suitable, and it was suggested I go for the Gems ECU system instead which has a box for the engine and one for the transaxle.
So...a bit of a minefield!
Anyone else got traction and paddle-shift experiences that proved good and reliable?

I would have thought if you are starting off a fresh with a LS engine get an ecu that does it.
Pee has one for sale(plug)
Your more than likely find it a simpler route and your have a better ecu.
But your have to have a loom made up, no big deal I might be able to help you with that depending on your time scales.
