I'm just with the AA.

I have never needed to use them - in 10 years of TVR motoring! clap

But now I've said of course, I will! eek

Britannia Rescue every time - www.britanniarescue.com

Definitely worth checking whether you are eligible for CSMA membership ( www.csma.uk.com ) as you get a discount on BR cover and the list of eligible employers is longer than you might think. Mate of mine runs a recovery firm and he rates BR highest - they pay the contractors better rates so they tend to get priority.

Indeed, although the contractors are a resourceful bunch - I once helped my mate recover a 20 year old Range Rover from a tricky location using.... an Escort van This involved gaining keyless entry to the RR, removing the entire immobiliser system, jump starting it off a 24v supply, fitting a truck battery and then driving it away. Job took approx 10 minutes from arrival to departure in a cloud of smoke hehe

AA wont now take u home if u have a crash, whereby RAC will, and the RAC also do no claims discount for your next years fee

I was with the AA for many many years but switched to the RAC last year for the same reasons as Woody. (And the fact that it made me mad when I found out that "new" customers got a better deal out of the AA than long standing ones. rage)

its the same with credit card companies, insurance brokers, sky etc

The issue with the AA is that everyone became greedy and wanted money in the form of shares being bought from members. Ever since it has had to compete very differently and a lot of the old service has had to be sacrificed.

Second that, they have also answered the phone almost instantly on both occasion I have used them recently.

The only down side was the amount of time the operator took to find Brands Hatch, kept asking me if there were any doctor's surgeries or nurseries close by. They finally located Gorse Hill, Farningham, Kent but still wanted directions I think I said something like

"Just let the recovery company know it is Brands Hatch main entrance, believe me they will know where it is!"

Well, if thats the case, then Im moving companies too (although they did pay out on my one and only AA Parts & Labour warranty claim). Also, it was said on one of the TVRCC eGroups that a TVR owning AA member broke down on a motorway and the AA refused to pick him up off the motorway due to H & S changes and he had to get a local recovery firm out to take his car to the nearest garage OFF the motorway before the AA would recover. yikes

I phoned the AA and of course the guy on the end of the phone denied this, but I have no reason to disbelieve the Club member.

Good job Ive got an AJPV8, they never go wrong paperbag
