Any suggestions re 'must have ' options on a new GT3? Thinking of going along the Clubsport route.

Remember with the Clubsport option you 'must buy' the bucket seats.
So with them and the PCCB's, that's you sorted !!

PCCB's had issues though, didn't they? Most people who track their cars regularly reccomend swapping the discs (PCCB or steels) to alcon/brembo items.

Clubsport pack with cage and buckets is nice though.

I would go with buckets & clubsport and tyre pressure monitoring for certain. Nice to have but by no means essential would be Xenon headlights, sound upgrade and cruise control if you are planning to use it as a day to day car and motorway time is envisaged. Navigation nice, but certainly not worth 2 grand.

I would expect the latest PCCBs to last much better for longevity (even on track, provided that you don't do too much of it) than the early versions, but from what I have read the benefits in terms of performance are marginal and you are buying an extra 6 grand of depreciation. The weight argument doesn't hold either as you can reduce the unsprung by as much with lightweight aftermarket wheels that cost somewhat less.

Not beyond the realms of possibility.....certainly BMW have offered it for years on some of their cars.

GT3s are tiring to drive slowly (i.e. they require more concentration to pootle along at cruise speed in than, say, a C2), and keeping it legal on a motorway is slow in a GT3. The easiest way to not get carried away is not to touch the throttle at all, hence cruise control. I know it sounds crackers, but there have been a couple of late night slogs home where I would have appreciated it on my 3, and while overpriced it isn't at the financially painful end of the options list either.

I thought it was a bargain at "only" £294 - one of the cheapest GT3 options - so i've specced it for mine.
Just out of interest, can you set cruise control to 190mph on the new 3?

Ahah, I'm not sure, but on my dads E-Class I kept raising it to 130mph before he intervened.

Yup, got it on my manual 996. Fine for when I go down south where busier but wider roads exist readering it useful.

Wouldn't buy a modern road car without it.

Very useful.
