Who is going to Back Home?
Discussion
Using cones we set up a short course full of twists and turns with 'garages' to park in, parts that involve reversing, slalom around cones etc.
We ensure that ALL models of TVR can be driven round the course without resorting to handbrake turns and burning rubber. Having said that handbrake turns and burning rubber are allowed and make for an impressive sight.
The competition is to get round the course without incurring any penalty points (these are awarded for going the wrong way round the cones, touching a cone, failing to stop within the 'garages' etc. Note you get a map of the course in advance and you can take a navigator if you want.
The winner is the person with the least penalty points, in the event of a tie then the person with the shorter time is the winner, BUT this is not a speed event, a clean round that takes five minutes will always beat a fast round that occurs any penalty points. The course is set up so that you only need first and reverse gears.
Its is good fun and its up to you just how hard you try and how much rubber (if any you burn).
To enter just turn up on the day and you will be given a map of the course, when you are ready to have a try join the Q.
Last year when we tried to get TVR drivers to have a go many came up with really pathetic excuses, the best (or worst) was from one bloke that had just had his hair cut and did not want to mess it up! hence my previous post. They did not realise what they were missing as the people that did try it came back for second and third runs.
WHY NOT HAVE A GO THIS YEAR?????

Richard
Can you try to allow for the fact that all the later cars do not have the turning circle of the older ones?
Last year I couldn't drive between some of the cones on the slalom without having to reverse....
No excuses, I just couldn't do it...
I will be going up on the Friday afternoon. Looking forward to it.

If any corners are too tight for your car, we will make sure that they are too tight for all cars!
Before we open the course we will check that the following cars will all go round the course with the same level of difficulty; M series, wedges, S series, cerbera, griff, chim & tuscan.
Is your turning circle worse that a Tuscan?
You may have to use reverse but if you do then so will everyone else...
