StealthCote Use
Discussion
The factory use a product called Sperex Satin Black to paint the underside of the fibreglass, Ive used 3m anti stone chip paint which gives a textured matt finish for the front and rear canopy and will be using a 2 part matt paint for the interior of the cockpit. I had a look at the Stealthcote paint a while back but thought it would be a bit thick and heavy. i dont know of anyone that has gone with the Stealthcote yet but the videos do look quite impressive.

I looked through the build manual and can't find the answer. Is this used to paint the underside of the fiberglass body?
You need to paint the inside of the F/G panels for two reasons. The front and rear clips want a good coating to protect them from becoming star cracked from stones being thrown up from the wheels. All remaining panels should be painted to ensure light cannot pass. this is to ensure that any variation of gel coat thickness does not show up as light and dark patches when viewed with light behind.
I used aerosol stonechip paint by Hammerite. The black areas in the cockpit are automotive spray paint.
