Any advice on replacements (18in wheels); been told the std michelins last the longest,
bridgestones and yokohamas more sticky but short life and less cost-effective.
Anyone got any experience of this. Must say a day with Don Palmer did the michelins in pretty well.

If you can track down a set, the SO2 suits the Boxster brilliantly... Far better than the later SO2A yes

Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are your little grippy friends.

Very, very hard wearing. Better than the Pirellis. Truly excellent wet and dry grip. Stand up to track days well and give excellent road miles.

Only problem is the expense. ££££££ I'm afraid.

Same as every year I'm toying with what to get to replace the worn ones...since I don't do a lot of miles in mine...but chances are I'll get another set of the MPSs. Just brilliant. yes

Unfortunately, you may well find Michelins extremely hard to come by. Fronts aren't a problem, but rears certainly are; mostly because the 18" fitment is common to Cayman S and the 997C2 as well. I've just had Bridgestone RE050s fited all round to my 987 and removed the Pilots to sell for someone to use on a trackday in summer.
Obviously the weather is a bit crappy at present so grip is hardly a subject to comment on, but I have to say they are a little noisier than the Michelins overall.

Found that the Mitchellins were the longest wearing on my Boxster and the best in wet weather... would be my choice hands down.
