I used to have one of there twin engine cars, too fast really, I've got some video's some where I'll try and dig out.

Interesting vid but it's been years now and we've still not seen it turn a wheel.
Think perhaps it's just a technology show piece that they have never been able to get working.
The vid says one engine drives the front and the other the rear. I thought this configuration was not allowed for road use.

Why would that config not be allowed for road use Steve? I don't know much about the Ultima but I had a long chat with Chris (Z-Cars man in vid) a few years back about the 4-wheel drive Tiger they did. Same engine config, (2 N/A 'Zaki ZX12's) only both engines mounted in a front engine bay! He explained how they dialed out serious understeer by using the ecu as a "virtual" centre diff. 50/50 power to each axle (100% from both engines) with no steering lock applied and the engine power to the front wheels decreased when steering lock was added. A sensor on the rack gave an input to the ecu which then reduced slightly the power from that engine. That was the car Tiff Needel drove on Top Gear, or was it 5th Gear? Only one car was ever built I believe.

I've not seen the regulation but read a thread where someone had two engines in a mini van. The statement there was that it was only street legal with one engine running due to some SVA or Construction and use type reg.

Perhaps the ECU controlled power split gets round the problem.

It is legal it has something to do with the diff's or torque stear, I can't really remember, Chris from Z cars is from up north so I only got every other word
