Clutch Question
Discussion
This is linked in to my snow thread I suppose, but broadly speaking am I likely to have done any damage to my clutch in the snow last night trying desperately to get moving?
I'm assuming it will have worn it some, but I have no idea how much that sort of usage equates to real-world driving.
Hope that makes some sense, whilst I'm just glad to have got home I'm now at the "have I done any damage to the new car" stage hence the question!
I guess the same question goes for the wheels/drivetrain/engine etc. but with that I'm assuming that the average trackday (which it seems any Porsche is capable of) will far outweigh a few wheelspins in the snow?
Apologies if I'm simply being stupid/paranoid

The wheels spinning up on snow will do no harm at all. It actually puts less stress on the car than when you drive on tarmac and the wheels grip !
Re: the clutch it depends on how you used it but no, it shouldn`t do any harm. You should have been gently releasing the clutch at little more than tick over so as not to spin the wheels.

I think "as best as I could" is the only answer I can give to that, pretty sure I could smell it when I eventually got to the bottom of our road so I assume I used it a fair bit as I was out of my depth and struggling tbh.

If you were engaging the PSM a lot you could also be smelling the brakes.
Ahh of course should have thought of that! My main concern is that it's just a bit of accelerated wear & tear rather than any lasting damage - probably being paranoid as they still drive Porsches where they have "proper" weather to deal with but it is my car etc.
