ECU on Automatic Setting

I've been told that some settings (jumpers?) are missing from my ECU and that it's on the automatic setting, does this mean I'd be running with the 3.5L V8 settings?

It runs fine and feels frisky enough though, but I've only driven one 4L RV8 before, that was a while ago and in one of those lardy golfbag TVRs so can't really compare.

This sounds like they are talking about the tune resister. If the tune resister is missing you will run on the default map, which is not going to be good for performance or emissions.

That's it thanks Peter, a recall a resistor being mentioned, but after that it went over my head and my eyes glazed over!

Is this an easy fix, or are we talking a new ECU?
