New Boxster S v 997S
Discussion
Steering was great and the car was a touch understeery at slow speed on a roundabout. Not that a 997 isn't
As for it being the best value car in the range I have to 100% agree. It really does make you question the point of spending 20k more on a 911.
The only minus points I have with the car is that the standard radio is shit and sounds so poor compared to the standard 997 system and the car rides too high to look nice. The gaps between wheel arches and wheels is Cayenne proportions (this car did not have PASM) whearas my 997 looks great on its -20mm.
Ride in both is about equal in comfort and the Boxster has loads more boot space.

Blimey its closer than I thought. After two days and 400 miles in a new Boxster I have to admit it was a fantastic car. Great performance and a lovely sound from the engine. I could live with one quite happily instead of my Carrera S had it been available when I bought mine.
Big fun factor grins I found
