I do not understand Villeneuve, he moans about the sterile cicuits that they race on these days saying there is no danger in the sport, agreeing that the only cicuit he rates is Spa (Eau Rouge in particular) saying he had his "best every accident" there in 1999.
So why does he now slam safety at the Paul Ricard test track, and has said that he doesn't know why teams bother to test at the track. He said: "Some of the corners are so dangerous - I wish they'd put some tyre barriers here."

Rumours that all the empty spaces around the drivers in F1 cockpits are to be filled with cotton wool is believed to be wide of the mark

The last I heard:
- He refused to join the GPDA, an act that has allowed Max Mosley to dismiss their views on several occasions.
- He does not take part in circuit safety checks
- He derides other drivers as "sissies" for considering a boycott of wet qualifying in Brazil last week.
Love them or loathe them, the Schumachers and Coulthards of the world make the effort to inspect circuits and offer advice. Villeneuve's actions speak louder than his words. Whether he's right or wrong on this occasion, his views carry as much weight as mine (i.e. sweet FA)

Jacques Villeneuve is thoroughly annoying in so many ways. He belittles his team mates and fellow competitors - behaviour more fitting for a boxer than a Grand Prix driver. His lack of contrbution to the overall good in GP racing is exasperating - given he is one of the senior drivers; he should be showing leadership. Instead he carries single-mindedness to a ridiculous extent and thinks he is now a law unto himself. I wish he would retire and let a "bigger" person have the drive.

yep, he is a moaning git, hes fcukin loaded, as far as i no has a great life and moans all the fcukin time! OMG, i think im going to go and hurt something now!
It annoys me so much, all the poor people in the world lving on about 20 cents a day, then this d!ck head moaning about being on some ridiculous amount of tens of millions a year (not sure exactly what hes payed)! grrrrrrrrr, i said i wouldnt comment, but im sorry, i had to say it.

why can't there be more nice drivers like Firman and Wilson and less like "Jack" (not gonna bother spelling it his poncy way) and David CoolTURD.
Wilson and Firman may be 'nice drivers' but nice and competitive don't really go together. Both W and F are rather slow at the moment, I know they are new to F1 but they are still too slow, and Pizzonia is hopeless as well (even though they are all far better drivers than I am or ever will be).

What a crock of Sh*t. Wilson and Firman are a long way from "not competetive drivers" they are in cars that resemble large piles of horse dung. The prooved that they are quick drivers, Firman in Japan and Wilson in F3000. Pizzonia is a quality driver being shown up by the potential future world champion Mark Webber. F3000 is the ultimate way of prooving Driver talent in the most similar cars Motorsport could possibly come up with.
I know this post isn't exactly gonna make me any friends, but I am fed up with people's ignorance judging the driver's talent on thier F1 grid spot/race result.
Put every driver in an identical car and they would suprise many people with the order of times.

I have been watching them in the lower formulas and they were pretty good there. But, in Formula 1 they have yet to prove competitive. I am comparing them against their team mates in identical cars, not to other more competitive cars. Fisichella is way way faster than Firman in the Jordan similarly Wilson is much slower than Verstappen(?).
Personally I've never been a huge fan of Firman, but then I'm biased having been in an 'A' Level physics lesson with him and hearing him tell Teach that he had no absolutely no need to do Homework as he was going to be an F1 driver....

If justin wilson was a little shorter he would have got a drive in 2002 with a bigger team than Minardi (no disrespect to them.).
As for "comparing them to their team-mates" Wilson is doing very well compared to the experienced Jos and Firman is slow against Fisi (who only won on a technicality I must point out, otherwise he wouldn't have won at full race distance.) but he hasn't driven most of the circiuts on the F1 calender.

Have to say im very disappointed with Firman. Admitedly he isn't getting much time in the car, but qualifying at Imola on Saturday was nothing short of awful, particularly the start of the lap. Wilson in my view is doing pretty well. If you look at the standings on about lap 4 he's usually up to about 13th or 14th place, from 19th or 20th on the grid
