Underseal

I spent the whole of Saturday last sorting out the chasis of the Tiv. I was pleased to see that most of the original coating was still intact especially around where I had a small oil leak . Anyway after much scraping, grinding, rubbing and sanding I was down to a rather solid finish everywhere. I was then advised to use a product called Tetrosyl Schutz which after application looked a bit like an underseal. Was this the right stuff to use? Coz if not then I have to get it off again at some time. Anyone else used it before?

Try and go for somthing that isn't heat dependent, like Waxoyl, otherwise it will melt off pretty much everything except the outriggers.

You saying that waxoil is or isn't heat dependant?

Hi pete,

i did exactly the same thing in my S2 2 years ago. After cleaning the chassis, i gave it 2 hands of KuRust, then 3 hands of Hammerite and took it to my local garage, where they sprayed the chassis with a rubbery compound. 2 years on the chassis looks exactly as when i had it done. A mate of mine did his tasmin with a waxoil/tar mix, that looks pretty good too.

Sorry Waxoyl is heat dependeant, and really isn't that good.
