Hmm.

No mention of service history, tax, mot...

Had stuff done - so if someone wants to get a cheap 996 might be worth a punt, but you probably could get a FSH one with a few less miles for a grand or two more, and I know which i'd prefer...

Looks like a great way to get into a modern 911!!

.. A lot of the basic stuff .. bushes , maf , coil packs have been done.
If you could establish how the boxedin rmsboxedin was , if the clutch was recently done , and make sure there's no gunge in the header / no smoke blowing from the exhaust ,(i.e. get the OPC111 done) it's a bit of a steal really.

In fact , if the car was registered after Feb '98 , you could even get a Porsche warranty on it for a year ..

Poverty spec? It's a 996 coupe with leather and climate and a manual box (reasonable interior and exterior colours too), not enough for you for £19k?

How much was it when it was new?,and what percentage depreciation has it had compared to other cars?

Quite. Look for a 1998 Merc S500 with those miles on and you'll get one for under ten grand.

Bargain.

Yeah, lets face it, a 9 year old, 110,000 mile (potentially no service history) car, still the best part of 20 grand...

Thats damn good residuals if you ask me!

forget about the spec, £300 for a pro. to check over and you're in 911 heaven for golf money...I think you all take it for granted a bit much...

Pov spec means it is light. Turn it into a track toy for little money. Sounds good to me...

Its a porsche, not a Mercedes. I appreciate that some Porsche's can be specc'd to a Mercedes level, but they are sports cars. Spec adds weight. What you have is a very accomplished sports car, whose first owner decided not to have a high spec, but to keep the weight down and have a lighter, faster car.

There's a seperate thread for Mercedes cars if you want spec...

Guys its actually £18k.
This is seriously cheap, poverty spec or not this is LHD 993 money and fantastic 3.2 964 money. Why have 996's dropped so much?
Its pretty frightening really. I saw a pretty average Boxter the other day (high miles bit shabby) £9k

well, his argument was it was a pov spec as the guy wanted a light car. I assume from that there is a chance its been tracked

Or, you take my original view point, that he could only afford a pov spec..

Im not saying there is anything wrong, but giving a reason for the low price - stop any chat of what is happening to residuals
