Please would someone tell me how to identify whether or not my michelin pilots are worn to the limit? I've done 9.5k miles from new (no track, mostly sane), and the car handles well, but I don't know how to tell from the tread appearance whether I'm safe! The large channels are >3mm deep, but the smaller peripheral channels in the tread are <2mm. My old 993 used to get through its rear tyres at about 9k, but let me know by losing grip on a particular roundabout.

Your advice would be appreciated before I blow £500 at Micheldever at the weekend.

3mm is porsche's recommended tread depth for changing.

I would not let them get any lower...........

Take your car to the track and you're sure that changing tyres makes sense...hehe
