A friend has a 96 XK8 which he is having difficulty filling up with fuel.
He says that he can only put a tenners worth in at a time before fuel reaches the top of the filler hole.
I know this is a twin tank arrangement and he says the fuel guage is slightly above red can anyone suggest what the problem is please thumbup

Is he rushing it? I have an XJ8 and you have to put petrol in quite slowly or the mechine cuts out as if its full.

I don't think it is a twin tank, at least the ones I've driven haven't needed to be switched from one tank to another. I thought that Jag had done away with the two tanks idea with the end of the Series 3 XJ.

If it's full after a tenners worth then I'd suggest that the fuel gauge is probably wrong.

Only ONE fuil tank, infact you can pull the carpet from it in the boot to see it.

I find some fuil pumps are 'Trigger happy' infact at my local fuil pumps I know which ones to avoid.

Maybe the guage, use the 'Trip' and find the 'Miles to go' to see that that reads.

Another thing join the XK8/R Club www.xkec.co.uk and you can get into the Members Forum, ask there.
