Probably utterly unrelated but a medium sized , foil wrapped spud in the Aga at 220oC takes about an hour.

Unconnected I know but the Aga is similar age and technology to the RV8 thumbup

Here's a good book called manifold destiny, it's a guide to cooking on your engine - bit of a steep price tag, but probably worth it. The heat generated by the RV8 engines really does cut cooking times down when compared to the lesser straight 6 pot stoves though!

Saw a TV prog yrs ago where they wrapped some fish in foil with butter and herbs and placed on the manifold. Drove to a picnic site and bobs your uncle some lovely freshly cooked fish.

Good idea - be careful not to get any fish oil down into the heater pipes though, could get a bit wiffy in the cabin, mind you would soon get rid of the glassfibre/resin smell though!

Maybe we should rebadge the fronts of our cars...

Wonder how long it would take to cook a mole(skin) on the manifold?
