That wouldn't concern me too much on a 8 year old car. Two intervals with longer gaps ( one only 15 months), but missed no services on mileage and all with the same dealer, so easy to check. Compared to a lot of cars lately that I've looked at (Noble/ Ferrari etc)thats positively comprehansive! And in fairness to the seller he does also label it with 320 BHP rather than 340. Seems a pretty genuine advert to me , albeit a bit long winded.

Yeah right. first gap of 17 months between services and 3,682miles over service schedule.

second gap of 30 months between services and 6,185miles over service schedule.

then thrid gap of 16 months between services.

yeah that would not concern me especially as the seller is stating the car has FTVRSH.

hmm the car was sold on ebay a couple of weeks ago for 12300 IIRC - the guy that bought it readvertised it on ebay after 2 weeks where it didn't reach its reserve - it reached about 13500 I think , he said he was selling because he was buying a shop in his village , I don't know whether the seller is the same guy from ebay but he has another car for sale on ph too so appears to be a trader - no harm in that, but some alarm bells are ringing in my head here.

I'd agree that in reality it shouldn't be advertised as "full" My point was that I didn't think on an 8 year old car it was particularly bad. Sometimes a car can sit at a dealers for months and go way over the schedule even in warranty periods, and not be serviced before sold, something that I never understand. There nothing worse than looking at a car and your first comment is "Oh, it's due a service then?".........and that Griff is due one !

reading the add i'm a bit confused... When was it actually built vs registered to a private owner... ie I would interpret the add as a tvr show car, for an undefined period, ie could have been built anytime in 1999, of if not registered for the road, before that even... Or am i just reading it wrong...

Have seen the add/car before and was tempted... BUT i've got one allready.
I'd buy it on condition anyway, over service history, allthough perfect in both respects would be even better.

would never buy a TVR without full TVR main dealer or TVR independent specialist service history, my Griffs service history is A1 and any future TVR I buy would have to be as well.

You cannot run or leave standing a TVR for 30 months without servicing it, and running 6,185miles over the service schedule on the same oil, filters, plugs etc,etc is a no no.

Would not touch this car at all.

As said before the car was on Ebay for about a year, prices ranging from 21k then it dropped to 13.5 over the period from Jan 06 until recently, i was toying with the idea and actually spoke to the original seller he was offered 8k from dealer and was obviously peed off, at one point it could have been bought for 12k, but i eventually went in a different direction

how could you prove it then, I have mine serviced at a TVR specialist once a year for stamp plus a full service from a local race car specialist who goes through it with a fine tooth comb.

So 2 full services a year as I do a few track days.

I think that says it all, he was offered £8k from a dealer probably because of the SH.
I was offered £13.5k for mine just last year from Fernies.

looked after it for him etc etc, that kicked him in the nads with 8k, peed off i would be!

8k is taking the piss but if he had got the Griff serviced every (12 months/6k miles) am sure he would have found a buyer willing to pay £15k+ for that great looking car. Its not like it costs a bomb to service a Griff.

With respect that doesn't say anything. the 8K he got offered could have been as a buy in, or against a 9 grand car,and your price with Fernies may have been against a car the dealer had a lot of money in, wanted rid of etc.Personally I wouldn't buy a tracked car with a track mile equivalent to God knows how many road miles in wear and tear no matter how much it's beeen serviced.Again, not saying your wrong, just have a different view on what makes a good/bad 8 year old car!

I think you will find that most people who use their cars for track days/sprinting/etc and everyday driving look after their cars a lot better mechanically than the guy who takes his car out twice a month for a Sunday trash.

Thats what TVRs are for, for gods sake. Not for sitting in a garage for weeks on end thats when you start getting problems. But hey I have only had mine coming up for seven years with no problems at all, so I must be doing something right.

and the £13.5k was a sraight cash deal from a dealer. no px.

was offered £17k private last year so my car must be a right race hound dog.
