Bought my car (996TT 02 reg) in Sept 06, and the satnav is now totally unreliable: screen goes dark for long periods and if it comes back it indicates I'm miles away from my true location, etc etc etc, in short I can't depend on it. So what do I do: replace the entire system (possible I'm told, but at great cost) or get a portable unit? Do people have 'image' issues with having after-market wires dangling across the dashboard of their P&J?

There are some exellent integrated after-market systems for pre-03 996s.

Can't remember who does them - think Kenwood, Pioneer etc.

Cheers I'll have a look round for them; I hope they take into account the M6 toll road, which completely stumped the PCM2 that I had in my 996 Targa last Aug. I guess in-car entertainment isn't Porsche's major stock in trade!
