Thinking of selling my 1984 3.2 Carrera and was wondering if anyone on here has sold anything similar to a specialist recently. If so, who offered you the best price? Tending towards selling to a specialist as private sales can be a total hassle.

Thanks in advance.

Think a little more about what value you want to attain for your car.

I sold my '84 Carrera last year and it was a real pain in the ar*e. Lots of people inspecting witha fine tooth comb etc etc. Mine wan't perfect by any means, but I had every single receipt for every penny spent on it, almost 23K in fact. So the history was brilliant. In the end, it wasn't a bearded 'enthusiast' who bought the car (by the way, many of these 'enthusiasts' want a factory condition for 8,000 GBP......) but a person who wanted to own a Porsche, and was genuinely keen to find a car that was solid, with a great engine and bodywork that was good for it's age.

If you're confident of the car's condition and that she's aged nicely, I would suggest you put up with the hassle and sell privately. You'll get a lot less going to an independent sepcialist. All IMO of course.
Good luck!

Have you tried 911 virgin ?

Some of the posters here have said his offer was about the best they got..

You'd still be better off by far to put up with the hassle of a private sale..

Best bid on mine has been Henry at 911Virgin. He offered me £3k more cash outright than OPC did against a £55k Turbo......

Thanks for the replies so far. The sale isn't definite, I'm just testing the waters at the moment.
