Protective sprays

I know there's probably no substitute for the wire brush/waxoil deal but I have a fair amount of Scottoil FS365 spray in the garage that I use on the bike. It's marketed as a protective spray that helps stop shite sticking to the vulnerable parts of the bike etc, wondering about spraying it around the underneath of the car as an interim until can get round to the full solution, any thoughts? any use a similar product?

I found this on another site... not very scientific but I think it answers your quesion (and suggests an alternative...)
he sprayed these three onto his garage floor and then rinsed...
"There are really three options
1 WD40 or equivelent - messy, stinks and washes off in the rain, apply after every ride
2 Scottoil f360 - Purpose designed for the job, not as bad on the smell, still washes off but not as quickly, apply every week after washing the bike
3 ACF50 - Designed for aircraft now available for bikes, spray or paint on, will not wash off, apply at the start of the winter, clean off with solvent and re-apply for the summer.
Dont get any of it anywhere near the brake discs"
I hope this helps, but as I'm half way around the car with my wire brush, kurust and hammerite and waxoyl, I'll be gutted if you get the same effect with a simple spray ! Ha!

Thanks Kevin, I'm aware of the ACF50 stuff as well, the bike site I used debated it all the time, some reckon FS, some reckon ACF. I'm still going to go down the brush and waxoil route but seeing as I have plenty of this stuff lying around and the cars new to me it makes sense to give it a drenching in the stuff for the short term.
Never mind any alternatives Socopac 65H is the best material. It is an aircraft material also approved as a replacement for Waxoil on steel vehicle chassis. It is a penetrant which also dries to a film on the surface which is much drier and less tacky than others thereby reducing dirt pick up. You can get it from this firm
