can you not add additional spacers to the back of the lens hood and slip them in there ?

Don't know how the hood fits onto the adaptor so I'm probably waffling.

You buy a circular polariser for the lens and fit it in front of the adaptor ring.

laugh Sorry you don't like my answer. From what I can see both from your photos and from my Lee stuff here, there's no way of having them both on the end of a Lee mount simultaneously.

In fact, how IS it mounted on the Lee mount anyway?

The hood?...it slots into one of the filter grooves.

No, the circ. It's a standard screw fit isn't it? Have you got another lens adaptor or something in the Lee holder for it?

can you mount some more sections on to the front of the hood and screw the pol into that. Looks like the screw sizes are the same..

Lens is 77mm...CP is 105mm with no way of adding anything on the front. The "adaptor" for it screws to the front of the filter holders.

There is no way of fixing anything in front of the hood. The screw holes you can see on the hood are about 15mm wider than everything else.

In that case I'd say you can't and refer to my first answer.

I've seen there's a hood Lee now make with the 105mm adaptor ring built into it... (curiously though, I can't find it now... can't see it on their own or any retailers' websites - may have been on a US site).

I'd come (pretty much) to that conclusion before the post...but knowing how thick I can be at times I was hoping I'd missed the obvious.
I've posted this question on five different forums, it seems that the consensus of opinion is "We don't know and we don't care" laugh

Or maybe he has the square filter that can't rotate...
scratchchin You need space in front of the CP to get your fingers in to turn it...scratchchin Nah...it's never going to work

Difficult to tell from the pics but if the bellows section is not extended is there any chance of getting to the cp then? For a given shot polariser will need to be preset anyway so compressing the hood, adjusting and then extending again would be no big deal. Still can't tell if the cp would be accessible though.

Even using 'standard' lens hoods polarisers are not usually accessible with the hood in place. Well, mine aren't.

Oh well... send it all off to me. I'll try and find a use for it.

BTW... top tip. If you are walking accross rough terrain with an oblong filter in situ, turn it sideways so it doesn't work it's way loose and drop out into a peat bog, then to be stepped on by a dog. boxedin

you have to make your own hood if you want to use it with the CPOL.

No you don't... like I've been saying... look here
www.leefiltersusa.com/PDFs/Camera/LEEP105Hood.pdf (Lee Filters P105 Lens Hood) .

Alternatively, B+W make a circular 105mm metal screw-on hood... not ideal though, and quite shallow so only shades if the light source is virtually 90° from lens (look on Robert White).

That's steep!...even by Lee standards. The standard hood is £64 + VAT, so about $180. That hood is slightly bigger but... Double the price? No thank you.

Martin.
