Finally get my mits on a TVR

Ive been working via an agency for a couple of months to get myself some cash and now the position has ended, I am signing upto another agency, but I had no shortage of people passing on information to help me out and one of the positions advertised was with a well known brewery.

The job is drivers mate, its heavy work, long days, but Im suited to it and it pays £19,000 per year which is fantastic for a job of its ilk...only problem is I have been in touch with them today and there are no jobs available until roughly mid February and believe me, as soon as the time comes Im going for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fair enough I wont have time to fart with travelling through the typical daily traffic in the area and a 6am start but if all goes well I may be able to get a TVR sooner than I had hoped

If I had the cash now, Id be going to have a damned good look at this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl

not relevant at all, but I had to tell someone laugh

How old are you?

The insurance is a killer under 25 - if you can get it.

If you can afford it - go for it - but get FULLY COMP - I hate to imagine how much extensive bodyshop repair would be on one of these.

I think fully comp might hit the wallet a bit hard, but I'll work it all out when I know more

I have heard - on another Chimaera thread - that if you do big damage to the front end bodywork it can cost up to £12,000 to put right.

So for christs sake don't cut corners on insurance with a TIV, it'll come back to bite you on the arse.

Or spend £800ish on getting a LGV2 then you can become a driver on more money.... then more to spend on a Chim

I had my first Chimaera 400 at 25, and fully comp, 12k per annum and Class 1 business use cost me £520...

Yep - but as I said - what about UNDER 25? I think you'll find its a bit different.

That's pretty hardcore. I paid £1500 parked on the street in Newcastle city centre for my S3, when I was 21, then it dropped to £1200 and then £800 for the Griffith. Currently pay £400 through Hagerty's for my modified Griff, now I'm 25.

I was 23 when I bought my Chim 400 and that cost me £1200 through tesco full comp with 3 points for speeding. It was garaged, but the Chim was also only 3 years old at the time!

Don't know if this is some sort of 'in' joke but if it isn't you are wrong to assume that

Im fairly annoyed by that post to assume that just because I am 25 and earn less than a lot of TVR owners doesnt mean that I have to conform to your idiotic ideals of what a 25 year old should own and drive!

As it goes I am an active (now) member of the TVRCC and plan on helping to arrange events for the club to help promote interest in the marque.

I also drive a 7 series BMW, not exactly your average 25 year old car either, not to mention the Volvo 240 I have recently sold!!

I may not be able to afford to buy and run a Sagaris or any of the more recent models produced in Blackpool, but there is no reason what so ever that I could not afford to purchase and run a TVR with either Ford V6 or Rover V8 and your statement just goes to show how narrow and small minded you are!

Theres always one
