Hi Alan

Like the composition of the road - IMHO you need to get closer in with the middle two. If you had one of them there sheep in the near foreground (or the church spire) it'd help the background. I've always found landscapes generally need stuff both near and far to lead you into the pic and give a sense of scale and distance. Other than that - I think you are in the right country but need to travel an hour north to get the shots!

Steve

edit to add:
You'll notice in my shots, that if I can't get a reflection (which I just love as a way of bringing landscapes towards a camera) I'll try any way I can to get something into the foreground. www.stevecarter.com/2005/2005-0.htm

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately i couldnt get in any closer, These were taken with the kit lens at full stretch and quite a large crop. Today was one of the days i was wishing i had a longer lens.Another thing im lacking is a drivers license and a car lol, but if i do eventually pass my test and persuade the parents to pay for insurance a trip further north will be on my list of things to do. Your landscapes are some of the best ive seen and the photo a day page has been Bookmarked.

I particularly like 2&3, but all are good.
