Un-categorised damage?
Discussion
Going to look at a 996 GT2 in the next couple of days and have been notified by the seller that its had a low speed bump (front corner). The car was shipped out to Porsche's official vehicle body repair centre in London and subsequently repaired, funded by the owner, so no insurance claim involved.
With this in mind and providing the repair is of the highest standard, do you think I should steer clear or remain openminded and make my decision based on the usual condition, mileage and price?
Thanks,
C.

Are you likely to find a GT2 that hasn't had an accident repair???
Application of a paint depth gauge and some careful inspection shows all the paint on my car to be factory original.
So yes, they do exist.
To answer the OPs original question, If the owner is forthcoming with all the details of the damage, can provide invoices for parts the used and you're happy with the quality of the repair (and if you feel the need, confirmation from the body shop that carried out the repair of what the repair entailed) why not ?

Ironic thing is Porsche dealers will often refuse to buy cars in for stock that have been repaired in their own "approved bodyshops".
Not just restricted to Porsche - Ferrari do the same - and since the repair panels seem to (can only?) come in through Maranello, little chance of a non write-off but major shunt being missed...cue big devaluation and much sucking of teeth come partex time....
