Newbie buying S2

Hi all,
New to this whole TVR ownership thing but as I was born and bred in Blackpool and have been under increasing pressure to sell my motorbike, the sensible thing seemed to be to seek out a TVR as a new toy. Given the funds available etc etc it hung in the balance between a wedge and an S. It looks as though I'm about to take ownership of a 1990 S2 (50K), which appears to be mint. I've asked all the right questions about chassis , service history, roof etc and am satisfied it's not a wrong un.
It does however need an oil service and probably a rub down/waxoil, so I could do with recommendations of a decent independant in the Preston/Leyland area of Lancs, any ideas? Also would welcome any further gotcha's that I should look out for. If all goes to plan i'll put a pic or two up of her later on this month.

Not sure about about independants in Preston but thier are 2 in Blackpool/Poulton

Also don't forget that there are 2 local TVRCC meetings in the area.

There are a few S's in the area. Me and ChrisChat who also post on here.

My folks still live in South Shore and I'm over there every so often so Blackpool based garage is fine, also very familiar with the shovels so will hope to get there some time and also try and check out the other meet.
I have seen the post for the run on the 11th and would love to have been there, however my other hobby is driving ambulances for St John Ambulance and I've got my two day blue light driving refresher that weekend so will not be able to make it.

So I've gone and done it, deposit placed and collecting on Thursday. Great place this as it's where I first spotted the add.
I reckon I have a good deal, 50k mile S2 in blue in what appears to be immaculate condition, great history and everything working as it should and all for under 5k.

Figured I wouldnt be getting the thermal performance i do from the climate control on my day to day car so will be taking along my 'big coat'. I'm collecting at lunch time so the travelling in the dar issue will depend on how long 160 miles of M6 takes, could be anything from 2 - 8 hours on previous experiences :-)
Not looking forward to trying to squeeze it into the garag ein the dark though, that may have to wait until next morning, especially as though I know it will fit in the garage I havent yet figured out if the 40cm I'll have spare is enough to get out of the car, probably end up climbing out, eek

wow - if the underside is as good as the exterior then youve got a good buy.
This is a great time to buy an S as the prices are pretty low for what you get, i reckon they'll sit at this level for a year or 2 and then good ones will become junior classics & may even rise.
PS. get rid of the handbrake handle, i bought that one & it looked naff IMHO - the leven one is better if you must
