To the collected brains on the Porsche forum - does anyone know if the OPC warranty is transferable to another owner if the car is sold? If so, is there a cost associated with that transfer?

And before the flaming starts, yes I have tried searching the forum, but if you put 'Warranty' into the search bar, you get a ton of threads back to read through. Anyone would think this has been a popular topic over the the last 6 months!

Thanks for your help

Yes if it's a PRIVATE SALE. No charge, other than a postage stamp.

If it's from a dealer then NO. And don't let anyone tell you different.

Cheers Soovy

I'm getting the warranty put back on mine - just wanted to know if it would be of benefit to a new owner if I sell it this year.

provided of course the plummeting value of my car leaves me with any bloody value left in it still!

Yes - agree with Ves. On the inside back page of the warrantee booklet, there's a 'request for transfer of warrantee' form, to be completed within 14 days of a private sale.

...there's a lot of temptation out there at the moment...and being a complete petrol head will only make the bank balance worse off. Not having driven a 996 GT2, I'm interested to see where prices are going...as I think the jury's out? boxedin or indeed using an early 996 turbo as a daily driver!

From the multiple threads and links to cars advertised on here it seems like a pretty strong buyers market at the moment.

And you know the best thing to do with temptation - give in to it!
