I would recommend Peter McAnna at Motortune out at Shotts (30 mins from Glasgow I guess).

Cheers

Older or newer Porsche?

Not used them myself but heard good things about independent specialist:

George Morrison Motors, 130 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, Glasgow Tel: 0141 643 1768

I stick with the local OPC, as they've maintained several cars for me over the years and I get reliable, no BS advice from the workshop manager Ian. Top fella. (0141-943-1155)

Have used G Morrison for many years. Thoroughly meticulous Porsche specialist and very nice chap who takes the time to talk you through any issues. You couldn't do much better IMHO.

RPM at Maryhill Glasgow call Graeme on 01419460666

They look after my 911. Know the old and new cars inside out, and much better than anyone els eIMO. They just are very busy though so call as soon as you can to book a lot. They look after classic race 911's and stuff so are well thought of.

Good bunch of blokes and cover other stuff too.

You can mention me if you like - Paul Ingram, but it won't make any difference as they are pretty cheap anyway and certainly won't rip you off. The gl;asgow traders use them alot as they are very knowledgeable in fixing faults.

Al, no offence to youurself, they are nice guys up there, but I must laugh, cos they couldnae even order the correct wing for me from a parts list with my chassis number. OPC is fine for newer cars but older stuff use out of warranty including 996's I'd use RPM, George Morrison, and Motortune first.

Yes and I specifically wrote "older or newer car?" at the beginning of my post.

I hope you were more accurate with your chassis number details.
