Can anyone advise as to the best place to get some large prints taken from digital photos? I had a series of professional product photographs taken and would like to get some large prints to hang on the wall at work, each file is about 20MB and I would like some prints about 20" x 30" (or whatever the format ratio is). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I'll be the first to recommend www.photobox.co.uk

I've had a few 20x30 prints done and they've all been excellent quality.

Thanks. I use Photobox for standard prints, thought I would have to use somewhere a bit more specialized for big stuff.

i havent used photobox for any enlargements, but they are good for small prints. pixum (as far as i can tell) are just as good for small prints, and i have had a few of their 12*18 inch enlargements which were also excellent.

pixums 20*30s are about £9 for one or about £6 each for 3 or more i think, whereas photoboxes are about £18 for one. i dont know if there is a particular reason for the difference (ie, one might use better paper etc) but it may be worth looking into them as it could save you about £35 if you were doing 3 prints.

I will be getting about a dozen done so will check Pixums as well.

All the files seem to be saved as .tiff at present, is this usual? I suppose I will have to save as .jpg to upload?

You do with Photobox. Stating obvious but make sure you set jpg compression to minimum when you convert!

Couldn't upload to Pixum for some reason, so uploaded to Photobox and ordered from there. I have ordered 7 off 30" x 20" to check the quality before ordering more, cost was £93ish inc delivery. Each image ended up about 6.5Mb as a jpeg, I will let you know how they come out.

Now I just need some kind of frame.....
