Due to loss (sinking) of my P & J I now have the option of looking at the Chim (no further need for towbar!) as a 'reasonable' action to take. Current ride is the Jag XJR and I lurve it but have always had a bit of a thing for the TVR (Its a noise thing mostly but really like the idea of lots of cubic inches).

I know this is the TVR section and bias is inevitable but what do I need to look out for if I do decide to take the plunge?

Cheers y'all.

Dependant on your budget, but ultimately maintenece, maintenence, maintenence.

Oh, and usage.

A healthy mileage shouldn't put you off. If it's done some miles, it's probably been reliable, been loved and has been used regularly.

What he said ^^^^^^^^^^

If buying privately I strongly recommend you consider paying a specialist to find or inspect before you buy. Money well spent.

Hello John.Want a new mota?
From your profile i see your a Londoner,my advise would be to get yourself over to the Mid Essex meet this sunday{see thread},and introduce yourself to Pauline and Ray{RO'S}.
You'll be made very welcome,im sure, and there will be many enthusiasts for you to seek further info from.
May see you there.

Like what people have said above, the more you use them, the more reliable they seem to be. Most leak in the rain, so better to have a garage or at least a car cover - although they don't seem to leak once on the move. I know of a Chimera that did over 50,000 miles in two years and didn't breakdown once. They are great cars and there are loads of specialists about, so if you do get any problems, you have loads of options available.
