Driving home tonight and the little round light on my 996 dash came on indicating (I think) that the pads/disks need changing. I've got to drive to Basildon from London tomorrow morning- is this an OK thing to do or should I not drive it anymore until I take it in to get the brakes seen to.

I'm a new owner and am pretty clueless so some help would be appreciated.

Cheers!!

There's no problem to continue using it for a little while while sorting out getting new pads fitted. I wouldn't see any reason to test it and think doing more than 1000 miles before sorting it though. I'd book it in for next week some time and you can be 100% sure it'll be fine to use it until then.

dont panic

I would seriously think about changing them yourself

996 pads are a piece of piss to change.

this faq will help if you fancy a go.
