There must be some opportunities out there eg for chassis repairing , engine rebuilds , spraying etc...? I would think a TVR specialist sprayer in the south would do very well! (If they can do front ends for hundreds of £s).
Now that the 97 - 99 chassis' are starting to show their age surely there is an opportunity for a body off and fix it proper outfit?

I agree - out of all this aweful mess there must be opportunities for groups of former employees to grab some good opportunities.

Why don't they start up using the three remaining letters from Trevor - call the new marque REO and produce there first V8 powered sports car. Why they could even call it the REO Speedwagon - very rock and roll!

I'm sure they could get startup grants too.

If you look down South there have been a number of dealers in the Surrey/surrey borders area for yrs eg Raving Queens, Fernies, Adrain Blyth, Hawthorns, Redhill, Mole Valley.... I very often see TVRs on the roads round here. There are plenty of servicing options here and even engine work (eg APM, dealers above, Austec, Batty etc). But I am sure there is room for TVR (and Lotus!) specialist spraying/body and maybe chassis work (all those 98 yr cars are starting to need TLC). This shouldnt prove to much of a problem to the exisiting indies.
Get yourself a unit in say Godalming or Dorking then I am sure you are onto a winner.

Don't want to sound negative but if the people already established in that field are calling it a day(some you mentioned are gone) what makes you think someone starting up with no customers will do any better?

yup, although specialist paint might be another matter, it's certainly true that these days every man and his dog works on TVRs. When i started out on my own about 4 years ago there was maybe less than 10 independant TVR specialists . Now there must be 50 or more? Not all do paint though ...

I think the honourable gentleman has overlooked the price difference in housing between Blackpool and some of the aforementioned southern areas.

However - if any do fancy coming nearer Swindon

Rent out house in Blackpool. Get a small bit of capital. Rent a unit down here. Rent a flat down here. Jobs a good un. Paint and chassis work only wont tread on the TVR experts down here , in fact will compliment them. IMHO
