Clanky wipers

I'm sure this has been covered a million times, but the wipers on my 3 are laughable. It had a new arm a couple of years ago but the left hand cross linkage hits the left wiper post on every sweep. Does anyone else have this problem, or better still a solution

i took my n/s wiper off,there was a constant clunk when in use,turned out to be the wiper housing lose,even the screws that hold it in were half way out,i tightend them up but the n/s wiper fell apart in my hand, but works perfectly well with one wiper

Mine used to fight each other. When I had my car serviced/MOT'd at Kerridges a couple of weeks ago, they changed the wiper arms to stop this happening. Also changed the squirty thing so that the screen cleaner delivery tubes are now wiper-mounted.

The mounting for the wiper motor is bolted to the front bulkhead. The bolts come loose and the wipers become sentient and try to discover their own personal way across the windscreen.

Only problem is the nuts are in the cabin, and the cap heads are under the front clam, so you'll need a friend to help.
