Regs released at Donington yesterday, class (B) T350 as we all thought. Quite a few Tuscans testing despite rain, hail, yes, bloody hail, and freezing winds but at the end of the day,we finally got some sunshine!! and managed to put in a few lap times. We reckon that 15/16 cars will sign on for the first race and maybe 20 within the next few weeks. Hay, Caroline, Samuelson, yes Ben,and Keen (keep an eye on this young man,he's very quick) looked as if they were getting "on pace" others were still running in engines and sorting out pre season niggles. Looking good for the weekend.

silly question i know but what is the range of budgets for the tuscan challenge....

I keep hearing about gt levels of expenditure ( somtimes more)

mind you a grand a go for tyres carnt help....

maybe thats why there are only 17 cars on the grid for the first race ( even the tasmins are looking like 18-20)

It all depends on who you run with, I'm sure that teams like us and CDL will charge about £60k for a season on a full arrive and drive contract, i.e all inclusive. If you own your car then you could bring the cost down to the low £50's assuming that you don't skimp on parts etc, and don't compromise safety issues. There are other teams that can do it cheaper, as they keep costs to a minimum labour wise, or the team principals work directly on the cars, but all in all I can't see how anyone can run for less then £40k and at that level competitiveness will take a back seat!! Only my opinion, so don't take it as read!

Good luck Rod & co

See you there - by the way a couple of weeks ago I was looking at Men and Motors - honestly for the cars - and there was some footage of Mike Hawthorn racing at Le Mans on the right hand side of the road on the Mulsanne with ordinary cars on his left but fronted up by a guy on a push bike (no onions) on his side of the road coming towards him as he hurtled round with an old fashioned mike in his hand as he commentated into a tape player. Incredible stuff. you must get a copy of the video for the showroom.

Best regards
