Hi there does anyone know what the waiting list is for a 997 GT3 and where I could test drive one? (London area - although I beleive the wait may be longer in the London area so willing to travel).

Cheers

The new GT3 really is brilliant.

Start by speaking to your local OPC.

You might need to go to Reading to try a demonstrator.

I believe 2007 allocation is sold out, but you might get a cancellation, or a pre-owned (although there would probably be a premium). Could be worth phoning around the network. Obviously depositors are at the front of the queue.

I spoke to Hatfield OPC and they reckoned 2008. No demonstrator and you can`t get on a Porsche experience day until you have placed the order.

Yes, it drives you mad doesn't it ?

I bought a GT3, because I had driven a GT3RS and found that I could almost live with it.

The dealer, from whom I did not buy the RS, has become a trusted confidante from whom I would love to have good reson to buy a car.

There should be a way of experiencing these cars on a rather more superficial level than a full blown Alpine Circuit and Speed Bowl Millbrook day, but the dealers just don't want their money tied up in the stock.

I would love to rent (on a discounted basis) a variety of cars when mine is being Serviced, but nobody has (so far) taken me up on the idea.

Maybe "they" should draw back from the glasshouse premises approach and stick "their" money in serious test machinery ? Serious partner wanted !!!
