Some advice please..

My perfect alloys had they're first (and I hope last) scratch yesterday. In honesty it's not major but I know it's there so I need to do something about it. The scratch is about 4" long on the rim, it's scraped the lacquer and seems to have made a slight mark in the metal work.

Having never even dreamed of being this fastidious (my last car was a disgrace by the way) I'm ignorant of the best way to treat this. Do I need to book this into my OPC or can I use one of the many mobile people. (i.e are there warranty issues if people remove your wheels)

Thanks
Pete

The quality of the mobile fitters seems to vary with the franchise. Where are you based?

That's Lepsons; also try Diamond Styling on 01732 779100 in 7 oaks.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll give diamond styling a call tomorrow.
(I hate parking this car, it's got such a J-LO arse that I worry about kerbing the alloys all the time..!)

Or, given the cost involved with the top line refurbers, wait until you have done it a couple more times and then buy a replacement wheel and be quids in...

[Unaccustomed as I am to the wider rear track of my first Porker, I have curbed my OSR twice now in less than a year (equivalent to 9.5 years of average curbage on my last car). On the first one I was distraught, but on the second you cannot imagine how glad I was that I didn't refurb it just yet. I will eventually, but the bruises are barely noticable from more than a foot and I can live with it for a while longer - until my spacial perception finishes adjusting to the car (which is only lightly used)].
