500 sheets is throwaway motoring.

Its got leather, its got 4 wheels and an engine, and it presumably works?

Although, I have noticed that Rovers seem to be popping up very frequently on the hard shoulder, normally with a tow truck. I don't know if its just a coincidence, but I have certainly noticed the trend. Make sure your breakdown cover is valid...

Otherwise looks like a good snotter...

I had the RAC take a look at it for me. The report came back good, no accident repairs, although some tiny bubles of rust on the boot. Little service history, but the RAC guy said it looks like it has been serviced, clean, ish, oil and water and good plugs. He said there was nothing to worry about and it was a clean car.

I had a TVR so I have good RAC cover 5 Star cover.

Good choice - I mean, what other reliable, fairly economical, respectable-looking motor are you going to get with the cow 'n' tree treatment with that sort of money.

Good choice.

Had one once for a motorway commute. Cheap as chips to run, essentially a Honda Accord with some re-skinning. Plenty of oomph on tap and it'll cruise at motorway speeds very comfortably. Loved the leather and the toys aren't bad. I especially remember the boot on the 600 was enormous.

For 500 notes, for a car that size difficult to do better. I see lots of 600s as cabs so they can't be bad, they have to be reliable, anonymous, comfy to drive and lug stuff around in.

As to what it makes you. Sensible?

Seems in good nick that! £500 is a result.

Just out of interest, how do you rate your turbo model? Has it been expensive to keep on the road? Is it a quick machine? Certainly looks the part in your picture. thumbup

Petrol consumtion really depends on how you drive it.
off boost its really good, drive it like a nutter, and its pants.
it is a quick machine, by most peoples terms (0-60 in 7ish) but its just the lack of drama.
just wafts along @ any given speed.
costs peanuts to keep on the road, plenty of Rover specialists (i DIY) only thing thats gone AWOL so far is the boost acutator.
£10.
interior build quality if fairly rubbish, but the optional half leather Recaros are lovely.
massive boot, massive legroom, and even the most expensive ones are only just over a grand.
can't fault it really.

I just hadn't realised stuff like that was so cheap nowadays. They really are worth running just for the sake of it, by the sounds of things.

I might just pick one up as a workhorse for when the Mazda comes.

defo a good idea.
mine was a workhorse for me, added 6k in a few months, but then bought a van, so the old girl doesn't get much use anymore.
good chuckle to scare a few 'chavs' though, as it has a quote vmax of 140+ yikes
and thats without the ease off increasing the boost removing the cat etc.
they make about 215 with the above mods.

(Sorry for the O/T, i do like the 623 BTW )

As a motorway hack you can't really go wrong.
Use it for a year and throw it away afterwards !

Can't complain for £500, looks nice.

If it was a manual I'd be jealous.

They are very rare, and weak too. The gearboxes fail, or the bearings do.
