When using integral phone sound only comes out of left hand door speaker - is this how it is or is there a switch over for right hand drive cars?

If you ask the caller to speak into the right hand side of their phone the sound comes out the right hand speakers.

Its to minimise the feedback to the microphone, which is on the top of the steering column behind the little grille on the right...
