Does anyone know the servicing schedules on say the 2.7... and the 3.2S?

Not sure if I fancy one or not. They look nice with the GT3 wheels on them, but not sure about running costs... after all, it's likely to be about 7 years old for my budget and well out of any warranty.

What's the Indy support like for them? I'm in kent. Is there much difference in price between indy and main dealer? Will that affect resale value?

Would you touch a cat D repaired car to get the facelifted shape? Or is it something to be avoided?

Cheers Fella's!

Please help me, the mrs reckons I should get a TT! yikes

Cool, I've met Rob before

I guess I'll wait for the nightshift to log in and there may be some boxster owners amongst them!

Cheers

oops, missed this bit before.

No, I personally wouldnt touch a Cat D - some might, but i think there are so many for sale you can afford to be picky, plus it will be harder to shift come re-sale.

I think you'd be better off with a pre-facelift S than comprimising to get the facelift, but then thats a personal opinion again...

About to put mine in for the first service since i bought it last feb so i'll let you know hehe

As for running costs 27.9 MPG with mixed mileage, 1/2 worn fronts 3/4 worn rears paperbag £560 for the new set of boots I had fitted before I picked her up.

I have had one little shock though, £700 worth of Air mass sensor an a couple of coil packs but as i had to have these done at an OPC (long story)it would most likely be £500 from a no OPC for these

Granted mines a baby 2.5 but i can't see the 2.7 costing much more.

It is also an unbelievably practical car when compared to anything else of it's ilk, although the TT might edge it slightly there. All you have to do is get into the two medium bags rather than one massoooove mofo and you can fit two weeks worth of clobber for two with out any problems.

If you can afford it get the 3.2s, wouldnt worry about the facelift too much as the only notable difference is the change of plastic rear window to glass one, although def an improvement, i would prefer to get a mint pre face lift than a more ropy car with a glass rear window!
I have a 2000 X reg 3.2S and the rear plastic window is perfectly clear, although I normally only do about 3000 miles a year and it is kept in a garage under a techequipment cover most the time paperbag

yes In my Boxster too I believe....

Just do it, you'll end up looking like this

Indie servicing, about a ton for a 12K service, bit more for the bigger ones. Tyres last well as weight distribution is nigh on perfect and... Well, I just love 'em. I prefer the driving experience to the 911 and if I didn't need to lug the kids about I'd have another one in an instant. Supercharged next time though lick

Out of interest, I dont suppose you have any idea how much a supercharger would cost to fit and the performance increase it gives? Ive been considering selling the Box recently but that might be an interesting option instead scratchchin

I believe Ninemeister were talking about 9K ish.

It's not just an HP increase but I seem to recall some very tasty torque figures too. There's loads of ways to get more ooomph out of em without necessarily spending that much and it'd be a hoot blowing 911's away in a straight line as well as round the twisties hehe

Servicing doesn't sound that much worse than an Elise then?

What's the story with consumables?

Clutch £
Brakes £
Windscreen £
Exhaust £

I need this good stuff. Keep it coming!

Edit: I believe you were in the 911... must have just taken delivery

I remember nearly shredding my tyres in the MINI at the services laugh

Hard to tell, they are the same colour hehe

Parts are reasonable, labour about £45.00 per hour at an indie.

Tyres, you would want to treat them a bit easier than you did in the services if you don't want to bankrupt yourself hehe

I would say ownership is similar in price to an Elise very broadly speaking. Fuel consumption etc will be worse due to the added weight but they are certainly affordable.

eg. Brake pads. £55 per axle, takes twenty mins a side to do. Insurance circa £500. Tyres, about £150/200 per axle.

Nothing is exorbitantly priced unless you use an OPC to do the work, then it can get a bit silly.

All sounds very reasonable... and £75-100 a tyre I'm used to anyway.

All in all this seems like a good plan! Now, how easy are they to get sideways? hehe

Easy to get... Not always so easy to catch according to my 360 degree mate hehe
