This is for all the organizers of 'TVR Thunder', specifically David Huges. You have managed a fantastic event, with 479 TVR's and a petition at No.10. I have an idea for a new project:

I am wondering if we could get Nick Broomfield or perhaps even Michael Moore interested in filming/ producing a documentary on 'The Rise and Fall of the TVR-Smolenski Era'. Maybe the BBC would be interested in this?

Reading many recent entries in the TVR-Forums on PistonHead.com, makes me think there would be enough material to cover a 90min film- with interviews of ex-workers, ex-owners and personalities such as Trevor Wilkinson, Tom Tricket, David Oxley and Peter Wheeler.

I think critical documentaries like 'Enron- the smartest guys in the Room', 'Roger & Me' or even 'Fahrenheit 9/11' create an audience beyond 'automotive anoracks' and would give the workforce, their families and everyone that was recenetly affected by the closure of Blackpool Automotive a platform to communicate their frustration publicly.

What has happened to TVR is a real shame and it should become a case study of 'arrogance and incompetance' and what it can lead to- namely the tragedy not only for the ex-workers, but all the family and loved ones linked to this disaster also.

I am convinced that this years 60-Year TVR Anniversary would be a great motivator to spark interest in financing such a project.

Roger and me was a fantastic film, Michael Moores best IMO, but it worked because Moore had genuine issues with GM. He came from the towm of Flint, Michigan that was devastated by GM's actions and, IIRC both his father and grandfather had worked for GM. He therefore had very personal issues and was prepared to put the time and money in to get the movie made. I doubt that such a movie would have been possible with out his personal desire and dedication to that project.

I think the travesty that is TVR in the past 3 years would make a great story but whether anyone would put up the money to make it is another matter. Maybe a joing documentary with the downfall of Rover / Phoenix consortium greed / TVR incompetence / How to ruin a marque etc....?

Possibly-but Moore was succesful because he was both controversial and therefore saying what a lot of people wanted to say but were afraid to do ( yup America is that ed up) and focussed on American topics.Zero interest if it happens outside the good old US of A I'm afraid

The Hoff as Peter Wheeler

Ian Beal as NS

Beaker as David Oxley

Paul Danuals as the entire accounts department

This needs to be forwarded to the BBC- there must be a young movie director out there waiting for his big break...

in my experience (and I have some) its all about access which I dont think would be a problem from the employees but not to sure about NS wanting to take part. I'd be happy to look into it though - whats the angle / story (and how lible is it)

I am sure one could get interviews with the majority of the workforce- especially now, that Blackpool Automotive went into administration and there certainly will not be any more payments from TVR management.

I am also convinced one could get interviews with: Trevor Wilkinson, Peter Wheeler, Nigel Gordon-Stewart, Tom Tricket, David Huges etc.

It might be difficult in interviewing David Oxley and Nikolai Smolenski- but maybe there is 'home-movie/ official TVR footage' to be found and used instead.

The documentary could start with a brief history of the past 60years and then focus on the 'Wheeler-ownership' and 'Smolenski-ownership'.

Naturally the whole film could also cover the downfall of other UK brands (Austin-Healey, Riley, Rover, Jensen etc.) and the take-over of UK niche-brands by international automotive multinationals (Aston-Martin, Bentley, Jaguar, Lotus, Rolls Royce etc.). It could also include UK cult brands like 'Bristol'.

I think there is enough materials- who knows, maybe Jeremy Clarkson can be motivated to do some quality journalism for a change.

PS: Also, the people interviewed (i.e. TVR WORKERS) could get royalties from the revenue of the production!
