Its Christmas, i have some pennies left over and am hankering a new steering wheel for my car. The standard wheel sometimes feels like it came of the number 10 and after seeing ralfs car at Spa in August with a Momo porsche one i have been after one, well now is the time!

Questions,

1, How easy to swap, with the air bag etc.
2, How much and who's the cheapest?

Thanks,

Barry.

Barry,
I just had this done last week on my car and it is well worth doing. Be aware that the steering wheel sits closer than the standard wheel and the stalks will be further away.
The diameter is smaller and it gives a nice touring car feel. The suede grips well too.
It takes a couple of hours to change over and you may want to have a specialist do it as it requires removal of the airbag and reconnection of the electrical gubbins.
I sourced mine from Gert and service, as usual, was excellent. The Cup wheel is really nice... the Porsche etching in red is a nice touch, and the anodised black finish is

LOL... I think you're right Andy... the rest of the stuff on the list "to-do" is mostly cosmetic nuts... but the steering wheel is really a brilliant upgrade worth trying out!

Cheers Ade, like andy says you are going the whole hog on your Mk 1 - Looking forward too seeing it.

What was the cost of your wheel and boss?

Cheers

I bought mine through Gert. It comes with all the necessary bits including the electrical horn attachments. It was about £250 to-the-door which is about the same price I think as here in the UK. I only bought through Gert because they were out of stock in the UK when I ordered.

The car is running very very well and is almost exactly how I'd like her to be. Am looking forward to the coming season once my arm recovers from my recent op (had a bike accident a few weeks ago). Hopefully be able to make it out by Feb at the latest.
