I've been asked to sell a camera, just wondering if there were any specialist places to sell them? I'm not sure if its anything special, its a Pentax Espio 200 with the original box, instruction manuals, case and receipt (was bought for over £300 in 1998 yikes ) and is in like new condition. Should I just put it on eBay or look for a specialist camera place?

Thanks

I've found that the you get the best deal when you sell privately. But I have dealt with camera shops to avoid all the hassles although you may not get the best deal. Try commission sale or part exchange for the best price. I've used ffordes www.ffordes.com/index.htm and Westcliff Camera www.westcliffphoto.com/catalogues/ and they have been both very efficient and gave me a fair price.

Prepare for a shock.

I have a Pentax Efina T which is a lovely little camera. Cost about 200 squids when I bought it - now worth a fiver or maybe tenner. There is absolutely no market at all for middle of the rod film cameras.

That's very true. I wasn't aware what kind of camera it was when I was replying! I've had a quick look on ebay and there are 2 priced (but it now) at £50 but I'm not sure if anybody would pay that.

When I was selling my camera & lenses some time ago, they quoted me a really ridiculous (actually, very insulting) price for my 10D, so I'd probably avoid them.
