Sorry to hear of your loss, just a thought though; it's not really clear to me from your thread what you are asking people to help with. Is it that you want to sell your Chimaera, buy a Tuscan or locate a suitable reg-plate? Oh and take your caps lock off, it makes it easier to read your posts. Rich...

There a thread here where lots of number-plate spotters are hanging out www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=126638

Regards the part-ex/swap have you tried putting an advert for your Chimaera in the classifieds?

My suggestion is to be more specific about what you want and ask for that in a forum.
eg if you want a TUSCAN then work out what your Chimarea is worth and what you are willing to pay on top (and does that buy the sort of tuscan you might like) and then put an ad in TVR wanted and start a thread in the Tuscan section. You could then be more specific ie are you trying to attract a tuscan owner who is trying to free up some cash.
As for plates then ebay seems ok.

Well I suggested you joined the debate about number plates going on elsewhere on Pistonheads but I see you haven't done that, Also there's web sites where you can check to see if the plate you want is available, do a Google if you are serious about it. However I expect JAM1E will already be sold or cost you £20,000! You've already listed your Chimaera in the classifieds so what else do you want people to say? confused It's not difficult... if no one wants to do a part-ex just wait 'til yours is sold and go shopping for the Tuscan. I'm not sure what shouting at us will achieve?

So sorry for your loss, Colin.

I cannot help you directly, but i do have an idea:

With the recent bad news from Blackpool some people, and more importantly some dealerships, may prefer the Rover V8 cars to the more recent Speed 6 cars (simpler servicing). You might be able to find a dealer happy to part-exchange, though I suspect you would need to pay a few grand on top of the value of your Chimaera. Bear in mind the reputation of the early Tuscans though - get an inspection or a warranty.

I cannot help at all on the number plates, I'm afraid.
