Apart from the way the staff have been dealt with, which is mainly the fault of UK employment law, dear old NS might have been clever and done us all a favour. In retrospect he might even be seen as a bit of a saviour.

Selling the S series parts, moulds etc and other old tatt from the yard - thereby preserving them rather than destroying them. Means older cars will still be servicable for longer.

Selling engine rights to TVR Power - thereby ensuring access to parts and development etc.

Selling rights and moulds to most recent models except Saggy & Tusc 2 to keep them in the market etc.

The 3 year warranty on new cars will presumably scratchchin be backed by an insurance programme, so shouldn't be a major worry either.

Having had a bit of a clear out means that the right people have acquired rights and parts before the receivers have a fire sale to raise most money for govt/revenue/banks etc.

He might actually have left a working legacy yikes whilst he seemingly retains the rights to the brand name. BMW have a filing cabinet full of fine old British car names acquired during their brief ownership of Rover, that they fail to use, so the actual value of the name on its own may not be a money spinner at all.

Onwards and upwards I say. Remember how many times Aston have gone bust ? Look at them now.

Merry Christmas xmas, one and all - especially the workers who it seems have been right royally scensoredt on, but that unfortunately is how employment law works in this country.

Maybe but what about the dealers, left high and dry! Rover-over comes to mind.
