daydream time............. ideal new owner(s)
Discussion
as it now looks like our russian friend is baling out of the car manufacturing sector, who would you ideally have pick up the pieces?
i'd love to think a certain bearded gentleman who has in the past been involved in trains, planes, mobile phones, cola........ you get the picture, would use his business acumen to finally stabilise the ship. i honestly think cash isn't the major issue, but the ability to run it as a proper business.

No you need someone with a proper day in day out passion in cars and not just any old cars but cars that will make him want to maintain what it is we all love about TVR's. My guess would be your bearded one would be all about going mainstream and would also engulf the brand in a shed load of very cheesy marketing. Appreciate this was a lighthearted daydream but I can daydream about much more suitable figureheads, how about a Mr G Murray

Do you think if you were to go on BBC 2`s Dragons Den,with a proposal to resurrect TVR, the Dragons would stump up the cash?
In a word, no.
I am afraid just from the guesstimate figures I have of costs, turnover and profit it does not seem to work in the way that it did.
To be honest an investor would be better off starting from stratch. Though TVR owners have a passion for their cars - as I did, the 'ghost' of the not so great things about how TVRs were would haunt for years to come, possibly fatally killing a brand which would have worked otherwise.
A new British brand would carry on in the 'spirit' of TVR though and would probably gain the same respect without the denotations.
OK, if you say that . . . I'd say TVR has made a fine range of cars since and I'd be very, very interested what a creative mind ( . . . ) would do with a legacy and a mission like that. Make a follow up for the Cerbera, Sagaris, Tuscan must be one of the hardest tasks in the automotive bizz today.
The concept of a TVR (light weight, spectacular styled body, beefy front engined setup and Rari-embarrassing performance) is certainly not unique but it was the execution of that concept and the ideology and the racebred background that created truly unique automotive statements . . . It'll need a bold and fierce tempered pragmatic diehard enthusiast to pick up the pieces - or start all over - and stamp the badge on such a car.
Oh dreams . . . a contempory coupe with all the CanAm drama. And it's not Mellings Hellcat . . . It must be way simpeler than that.
Nightdream time . . .
