what do you think of the Mini Works GP?

what are peoples view on these?
Have now seen two in the flesh )sat in one) and really think they look awfull, looks like some 18 yr old boy racer took a Cooper S down to Halfords and stuck a load of naff bits on it. The rear spoiler is really cheap looking, then there is the limited edition number stuck on the side.
The one I saw yesterday is for sale at £22k, just cant see how you'd justify that on one of these, my last Cooper S was a BBR 220, sold it at 11,000 miles for £12k.

I love the Works GP. Just px`d my Cooper S in for one.
The first difference I noticed was the acceleration is much quicker particularly in 6th gear when overtaking on the motorway. The GP is much faster but also alot noisier inside. The handling and steering are much sharper than the Cooper S. It feels safer going round corners at speed. Brakes are much firmer and positive. The recaro seats are really comfortable. For some reason it also has heated seats.
The only negative things I can say about the GP is that I miss the parking sensors that I had on my Cooper S. They made me quite a lazy parker and the GP Works doesn`t have a rear wash/wiper which as any new Mini owner knows is quite important as the back window easily gets covered in crap.

i think they look great, i wouldnt spend £22k on one though, but by saying that if u upgraded your engine, brakes seats etc, you would probably spend that anyway, I thought every Cooper S had a 6th gear? i know i have one, superb for winding my friends up wen they talk about their cars and speed
6th is like overdrive used when cruising on the motorway usually above 70, mine's seldom used as I hardly use the motorway.
If i could afford a GP first thing I'd change would be the runflat tyres, those standard 18" runflats must give the car such a hard ride. Still would love one though.

Why have you people got mcs's if your going to use 6th at anything below 70 to save fuel, why not buy a diesel.

What just because we dont drive like tts all the time ,,, and if you only use 6th above 70mph i think you should go on a refreasher course

What just because we dont drive like tts all the time ,,, and if you only use 6th above 70mph i think you should go on a refreasher course
I drive my mcs two ways; during the comute, like any other car just chug along with the odd over take. But on a weekend I drive it how it should be driven, with Spirit - traction off foot down.

The pleasure of driving ?
Or we could all drive round in a hybrid
I love them and these are the reasons why!
1. There is real!!! not bulls**t carbon fibre being used and anyone who knows anyting about carbon is how hard it is to get a real good quality component out. and the rear wing is purposefull not bulls**t.
2. They are flat bottom, aerodynamicly v good!
3. Suspension is bespoke to the car, check them out side by side there is a big difference.
4. the sills are fantastic!
5. most powerfull factory mini!
6. Love those wheels!!!!
