Am currently in Thailand, and severely jet lagged. Unable to sleep, the girlfriend and I went for a walk in the local market at 5am.

The resulting shots:

I was using my 5D & Canon 35mm f1.4 prime which I think worked really well together especially given that I was shooting at ISO 1,250(!!). The only downside being the 5D's noisy shutter - on a few occasions (as can be seen in the pictures) the person I was shooting heard/saw me before I could pap them

They're good - interesting subject and all. Love the fifth one, could possibly do with a bit more "punch", slightly more contrast, darken the corners to better frame the main subject, but an excellent candid! thumbup

Thanks for the comments

Post processing included tweaking: exposure, white balance, cropping (all done in Apple Aperture), and then they were pulled through Noise Ninja.

Am currently on an extremely slow internet connection, in an extremely smelly internet cafe, so can't see which one no.5 is but thanks again for the comments

They are definitely in the realm of 'proper' photography and not your usual tourist snap! Pic 8 (the girl buying something at a deep fried food shop I think) reminds me of the famous Edward Hopper 'Night Hawks' painting. I especially like the aura around the girl, it generates a slightly mysterious visual focus to the image.
