Hi Guys,

I have just been made to move by my company from London to Amsterdam.

So I have sold my RHD 996 and I have put in an offer on a LHD 996 being sold in the UK.

The car is 4 years old and spent the fist 3 years in the USA before coming to the UK.

Is there anything differnt that I need to know about USA spec 996 Vs. UK spec.

Thanks in advance

Gary

on a side note, have you looked into importing a car to NL ?

check out what they call "BPM" a tax they have on all cars.

I looked into this a while back, a friend imported his merc over at the same time and he had to pay about 45% of the original retail price in holland, €€€€€€€€€€€, was a S500 so wasnt cheap to import it.

and a few more for good measure.

he drove his round for about 3 months before getting bother from the Polite (BiB)

his came from gran canaria but im 99% sure the same will apply.

I brought a 993TT here from San Francisco about 18 months ago. All the "important' spec's are the same - things like the drive train, transmission, brakes, HP/Torque values, etc. I had installed RoW springs in it years ago, so the ride height was the same. All I had to do was add some side repeaters and UK spec tail lights and reaim the headlights. Can't believe a 996 would be any different.

You might want to check it does have a full leather interior.

Whilst this is spec'd as standard in the UK I am not sure if it is the same for the US, same with the alancantra headlining

Happy xmas beer
