Well, it took a bit longer than that, but I'm sorry to say that I just watched my Can-Am driving away with its new owner

Odd time of year to have sold it - but there you go! I just hope the new keeper looks after it a bit better than when I sold my GTR!

As I drove it earlier today, I realised what a great car its been and one that achieved all the objectives I set out for it during the build.

Ah well, maybe another one once Charlie has flown the nest (though Ultima will probably be selling hybrid vehicles by then!)

Until then, my '07 Mustang is calling evil

I don't believe so Pete, although the new owner has had a GTR in the past. They do frequent PH though, so we may see them on the forum sometime.

good for you Stig, well done...now you can go on with your "new" plans.

There's a "nice" Ultima GTR that fit in my pricerange at 27k on the moment in classifieds but have to wait till next year when I sell my M coupe(first have to wait till the new tuning stuf arives and added to it) but that Ultima GTR price seams good to me? anyway when I have the money by then I'm thinking of about 4 cars on the moment, all have some nice things...in random order;

1= Ford GT40 mk1/2 replica(around 400ps)
2= Lotus Elise mk2 with a 320+ps engine conversion
3= Ultima GTR (around 400ps)
4= BMW Z3 M coupe Hartge 5.0 V8 with 430ps(only one such Hartge Coupe build and its sale!)

choises choises, but wich is best in my case?? like to own them all in some time so I guess I will work that out someday(I hope)

I dont think Wayne can be described as "moderate"

Stig: are you really getting an 07 Mustang?..... if so, is it blown, if not, why not.

I'll still be moderating I'm afraid - sorry to disappoint

Yes - I am getting an '07 Mustang and yes, I'll be fitting a plethora of performance bits to it (inc. Vortech/Saleen/FRPP blower)

Until there's a 4 seat Ultima available, I'm stuck!

Stgi, if you've still got the car building bug why not start building a nice RC nitro powered GTR for when Charlie's a bit older?

Funny you should say that, as I was considering building Charlie a small scale Seven for him to start practicing oversteer

The only thing is, with your experience it will be so damned neutral he won't be able to get it to oversteer

Thanks Brian - Charlie needs to do something to earn his keep before he gets in a Kart

Oh I dunno, huge engine and over-inflated, bald rear tyres should do the trick hehe

Introducing myself, I am the proud owner of Stig's CanAm. I am glad to say my first drive of 80miles back home was rain free! Can not conceal this purchase from the wife any longer! I think she recognised the roar of the engine at it arrived!driving
Already changing bits on it. I guess with all kit cars there are always refinements to do! Stig has given me a good start, sorting out and improving alot of areas which I fully support! Having owned a GTR in the past for a couple of years, so know alot of the issues running this type of vehicle. I just hope the new buy lives up to my expectation. I must admit it is nice being able to see out of the back, changing lane in now easy, also looking out for plod! Not feeling so closed in, with no opportunity to open a side window. So it's got off to a good start! My first impression is the CanAm is a far better driving experience compared to the GTR! Your comments!
